When I checked the weather the night before Heather and Nate’s wedding, it did not look good. It showed a good chance of rain throughout the day (which might be a theme for weddings in ’21). My heart sank for the couple; Heather and Nate already had to postpone their original wedding date in 2020 due to the pandemic, and now they faced a weather washout. When I arrived however, Heather remained optimistic and plans were moving forward to have the ceremony outside. Her optimism was validated, as the rain held off until they were pronounced husband and wife. Guests and family members had just enough time to rush for cover as the rain started to come down harder. We waited till the rain passed for the rest of the couple’s pictures, and the the night went off without a hitch.
Heather and Nate planned an elegant and classy wedding at Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva. Their dreams for a venue with a view, became their reality. The dining room boasts a huge terrace that overlooks the vineyard and Seneca Lake. Not only is the overlook spectacular, but its also the perfect spot for sunsets. Our evening shoot was magical as the sun sank behind the hills. Ventosa’s Italian theme was the perfect setting for Nate’s large Italian family. The décor and vibe were warm and friendly, much like Nate’s grandmother, who said the blessing over dinner. Heather and Nate had been looking forward to partying with their friends and family, and their DJ, Steve Turner, did not disappoint. The dance floor was packed all night, with no shortage of laughter and love.
